Departments

Programs and departments within the Division of Student Affairs include a variety of areas designed to enhance the quality of campus life for students. Our student services and facilities promote student learning, support student success, and create connections to campus life.

The Campus Recreation department provides a comprehensive program of recreational activities for MTSU students. Josh Stone is the Director of Campus Recreation which also houses the Cheerleading office. Campus Recreation is located in the Health, Wellness & Recreation Center.

The Career Development Center provides career and employment information and services to students and graduates to assist them in the pursuit of their chosen career goals. Beka Moore is the Director, and their main office is located in room 328 of the Keathley University Center.

Counseling Services welcomes students to make an appointment and talk about virtually any personal concern or question they might have. Mary Kaye Anderson is the Director. The Counseling Office is in room 326-S of the Keathley University Center.

The Disability & Access Center offers a wide variety of services to students with disabilities. Kevin States, Director of the program, and his staff will assist in determining and providing appropriate accommodations best suited to help our students be successful on campus. The office is in room 120 of the Keathley University Center.

Fraternity & Sorority Life advises the fraternities and sororities on campus. Hannah Leyhew is the Director, and her office is located in the Student Union Building, room 330.

Housing and Residential Life creates living/learning communities in on-campus residence halls and apartments that accommodate up to 3,000 students. Michelle Safewright is the Executive Director.  The main office is located in the Keathley University Center, room 300.

Intercultural & Diversity Affairs provides services for domestic or international minority students and have programs that celebrate various cultures. Danielle Rochelle is the Director, and her office is located in the Student Union Building, room 320.

The June Anderson Center provides student support for women and adult students who generally work full time, are married, have children, and other adult responsibilities beyond their college experiences. Maigan Wipfli is the Director, and her office is located in the Student Union Building, room 330.

MT Unions provide convenient, high-quality facilities and efficient services to support University programs and community. The union facilities are designed to enhance campus life and advance the University’s educational mission.

Justin Reed is the Executive Director. The MT Unions administrative offices are located in room 340 of the Student Union Building and can be reached at (615) 898-5121.

The Office of Student Care and Conduct seeks to promote student learning, growth, and development by increasing awareness of the University’s expectations of behavior, holding students accountable for violations of these expectations, and developing educational sanctions designed to help students learn from their mistakes.

Laura Sosh-Lightsy is the Associate Dean of Students and is located in Keathley University Center, room 208.

The Student-Athlete Enhancement Center provides tutoring, advising, and other academic support services for MTSU athletes. Todd Wyant is the Director. The center is located on the southwest corner of Floyd Stadium.

The MTSU SGA is the voice of more than 20,000 students attending MTSU. The current SGA president is R.J. Ware. The SGA office is in room 306 of the Student Union Building.

MTSU’s Student Health Services treats minor illnesses and injuries on an outpatient basis much like a doctor’s office. Richard Chapman is the Director. They are located in the Health, Wellness & Recreation Center.

If you’re looking for a student organization to join or you’d like to volunteer at a local agency, then look no further than the office of Student Organizations & ServiceJackie Victory serves as the Director. This office is located in the Student Union Building, room 330.

Student Programming plans and schedules programs and major events that are brought to campus. Rich Kershaw is the Director. His office is in room 330 of the Student Union Building. Contact the Student Programming Office at (615) 898-5812.

Student Support Services is 100% federally funded by the US Dept of Education and serves low income and academically at risk students. Their mission is to increase the retention and graduation rates of program participants. Melissa Towe is the Director. Student Support Services is located in Keathley University Center, room 308.
